is a statewide partnership of concerned citizens, businesses, interest groups and local governments urging the General Assembly to fully fund the state's conservation trust funds.
2010 - 2011 Budget Signed into Law June 30
The North Carolina General Assembly gave final approval to a $19 billion state budget for fiscal year 2010-2011, which Governor Purdue signed into law on June 30. The House voted 66-50 in favor the state budget plan, while the Senate voted 28-15.
The budget includes $50 million for the Clean Water Management Trust Fund (CWMTF) and $2 million for the Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund (ADFPTF). It also protects funding for both the Natural Heritage Trust Fund and the Park and Recreation Trust Funds, as it has in the past.
In a tight economy, our legislators demonstrated great leadership in supporting and protecting funding for land and water conservation that will boost our economy and protect our natural lands, drinking water, parks, trails and wildlife habitat.
