Clean Water $185 million over five years
The current mission of the Clean Water Management Trust Fund is to enhance and restore degraded water, protect unpolluted water, contribute toward a network of riparian buffers and trails for water quality improvement and other environmental, educational and recreational benefits. It makes grants to state and local government agencies as well as nonprofit conservation and planning organizations. Its funding level for FY 2005-2006 was $100 million, and Land for Tomorrow proposes providing this trust fund with an additional $37 million per year for five years.
